Mr. Wayne Melvin Whitehead, age 69, of Eastman died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Dodge County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, August 26, in the chapel of Hardy-Towns Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Leggett officiating. Committal service will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, August 26, at Alamo City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Whitehead was born June 20, 1947 to the late Leila Wigley and Forrest Whitehead. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired police officer, serving 28 years.
He is survived by his children, Teresa Yawn (Joey), Jeff Whitehead (Vicky Stafford), Dwayne Whitehead (Misty Crapps), Justin Whitehead; grandchildren, D.J. Whitehead, Daniel Whitehead, Brittany Godsey, Kandi Williams, Eric McBroom, Leona McBroom, Tiffanie Hall, Katelyn Hall, Natalie Hall; great-grandchildren, Breanna Vaughn, Rayleigh Winebrinner, Rhyland Godsey; siblings, Windall Whitehead (Louanne), Mickey Whitehead (Debbie), Charlotte Aldridge (Charlie), Rev. Ronald Leggett (Shirley), Rev. Donald Leggett (Brenda).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Black Whitehead.
