Mrs. Virginia Hale Eskridge Coble, age 89, of Eastman passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at her residence.
A memorial service will held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Eastman First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ted Goshorn officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Jensie, as she was affectionately known by friends and loved ones, was born November 6, 1928 in Greenwood, South Carolina, the daughter of Emily Irene Holland and Dr. Thomas Joseph Eskridge. She graduated from
Columbia College in 1949 and taught South Carolina History in public schools in Anderson, SC for 25 years. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Faith and in recent years attended The Eastman First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Hale Edwards (Jim) of Greer, SC and Mary Kirkley (Steve) of Eastman, Ga.; five grandchildren, Katie Houston (Mark), Stephen Kirkley (Frances), Callie Cobb (Jason), Fletcher Taylor, and James Edwards (Dana);six great grandchildren, Melanie Houston, Isabella Houston, Emily Cobb, Elizabeth Cobb, Charlotte Kirkley, and Olivia Kirkley; loving friend and caregiver, Zepher Williams.
Mrs. Coble was predeceased by her daughter, Robin Coble Taylor.
The family request, in lieu of flowers, contributions to Eastman First United Methodist Church, The Methodist Childrens Home, or The Diabetes Foundation.
