Paul Franklin Fincher left this world peacefully on March 10th,2024. Born in Eastman, GA on October 30th 1931, Paul's journey began as a spark that would illuminate and benefit the lives of many.
A man of selfless service, Paul's career soared through the Naval and United States Air Force ranks, tinkering with fighter jets before cruising into civil service at Warner Robins Air Force Base. A graduate of Dodge County High School, he never lost his love for learning and was often plotting his next project or adventure.
Paul's heart reconnected with his childhood sweetheart, Myrtice Golden and later married her where they navigated the skies for 18 years of marriage. Their family includes his sister Audrey Fincher Peterman, daughter Sharon (Rod) Moore, son Michael Fincher, daughter Carol (Andy) Stuckey, daughter Jan (Greg) Smith, grandchildren Lance (Cindy) Stuckey, Amy (Everett) Collins, Dustin Smith, Kristen (Dakota) Lee, Meredith (Brian) Nunn, Blake (Lucy) Smith and six great grandchildren, Lucy, Abby, Selena Kate, Archer, Levi, Gavin and Dawson who looked up to their grandfather Paul as a humorous and kind example.
His life was a beautiful testament to a man who knew no strangers, and he now joins his parents, Carl Eugene and Bessie Lorene Lane Fincher as well as his siblings and former wife Shelia Jones Fincher.
Paul's home church was Bethlehem Baptist Church and his downtime passions included cultivating his garden, reeling in a fish, cracking a joke to make you smile, helping the needy and strumming the heartstrings of classic country music.
The celebration of Paul's life voyage will commence Wednesday, March 13th with the visitation at Hardy Towns Funeral Home at 10 am, with service to follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1530 Airport Rd., Eastman GA 31022 or Remarkable Hospice-Dublin, GA 1200 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin GA. 31021
Paul Franklin Fincher's legacy will taxi on the runway of our memories, ready for takeoff at the mention of his name. He leaves behind a flight log of love, laughter and the kind of wisdom that only comes from a life well lived.
