Obituary

Mrs. Odelle Smith Faircloth, age 99, of Eastman, Georgia passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, July 26, 2026. Visitation will be held at Hardy-Towns Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Bay Springs Freewill Baptist Church with interment to follow.

Mrs. Faircloth was born November 18, 1926 to the late Emma Butler and Gus D. Smith. After graduating high school, Mrs. Faircloth worked for many years at C&J Shirt Factory. She was also instrumental in the ministry undertaken by her late husband, Rev. Howard Faircloth. In her free time, she enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, and fishing. Mrs. Faircloth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister.

Mrs. Faircloth is survived by her son, Phillip Faircloth (Lynne); her daughter-in-law, Louise Faircloth; her sister, Mary Etta Giddens; her grandchildren, Todd Lewis (Tina), Dave Lewis (Laurie), Rick Gully, Cheryl McCrorey (Rob), Brant Gully (Cheryl), Leah Nicole Faircloth, Kristen Delane Faircloth (Ryan McCullough), Phillip Daniel Faircloth, Jr. (Amanda Cepero), Alexander Nash Faircloth (Shelby Corbett), Brandi Faircloth, Randy Dewitt Faircloth, Jr. (Kayla), and Amanda Faircloth; her great grandchildren, Camille McAvoy (Charlie), Will Lewis, Carolyn McCrory, Peyton Gully, Anna Gully, Samantha Gully, Richard Gully III, Emma Gully, Thomas Gully, Jalyn Smith, Hunter Faircloth, and Toby Faircloth; her great-great grandchildren, Lane McAvoy and Hayes McAvoy; and her sister-in-law Vonceile Faircloth.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Faircloth is predeceased by her husband, Rev. Howard Faircloth; her son, Randy Faircloth; her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Richard Gully; her infant great granddaughter, Elizza Lewis; and her siblings, Willard Smith, Magdalene Batts, and Judy Driggers.
