Mrs. Nuvel Douglas, age 93, of Eastman died Monday, February 8, 2021 at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Cook and Rev. Chad Hendley officiating. The family requests social distancing and wearing masks.
Lie in state will be 3-5p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Douglas was born March 24, 1927, in Laurens County to the late Sarah Raffield and Matt Barlow. She was the oldest surviving member of Cottondale Baptist Church, where she was an active church member. She served as nursery director as well as many other responsibilities at the church. She was retired from Reeves Brothers Manufacturing and substitute teaching.
Mrs. Douglas was a loving, nurturing mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was very active in the lives of her children and family. She enjoyed traveling with the Band and was active in the Band Boosters when her children were members.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy D. Screws (Donny) and Deborah D. Wilkinson (Larry Laxton); sons, Dennis Douglas (Fran), Danny Douglas (Brenda), Wayne Williams (Jeanine); grandchildren, Christopher Screws (Rebecca), Taylor Screws (Brittany), Dennie Douglas (Skip), Brandon Douglas (Crystal), Jennifer Douglas, Jamey Wilkinson (Leslie),Crystal Bullock (Todd), Katie Wilkinson, Tabitha Brantley (Aaron), Kristin Williams, Dee Snyder (Graham), and Travis Inskeep; great-grandchildren, Keely Wilkinson, Ava Wilkinson, Jake Wilkinson, Rylie Bullock, DJ Bullock, Maycee Brown, Alton Talbot, McKenzie Snyder, Charleigh Snyder, Addison Douglas, Noah Brantley, and Juliana Brantley; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Tillman Douglas; sisters, Mattie Barlow, Lucille Barlow, Flara Westbrook, Bessie Allen; and brother, John T. Barlow.
Those serving as pallbearers are Jamey Wilkinson, Christopher Screws, Taylor Screws, Wayne Williams, Brandon Douglas, Tony Allen, and Andrew Allen.
Honorary pallbearers are Felton Barlow, Greg Barlow, Tim Allen, Danny Allen, Zelton Barlow, and Terry Dunn.
