Mrs. Maryse S. Johnson, age 90, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Pinewood Manor in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 10:00 am at Hardy-Towns Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Wilbanks officiating. A visitation with friends and family will follow the service.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Chauncey, Georgia on February 14, 1933 to the late Vassie Powell and Joe C. Stanley. She was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church where she taught many generations of children in Sunday School. She was also a homemaker for her family that she loved tremendously.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Lucas (Jesse) and Carol Smith (Roger); her sons, Carl Johnson and Joey Johnson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric Lucas (Lynn), Daniel Lucas (Kacie), Andi Fordham, Ross Smith, Jody Johnson (Clara), Amanda Wickert, and Carla Pritchett (Joel); as well as 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Boe Stanley (Rosie).
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson; her brother, Pete Stanley; her sister, Anne Colly; and two infant great-grandchildren.
