Margaret Fordham Lee passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 after an extended illness. She was born on June 11, 1945 to J F and Evelyn Bowen Fordham in Dodge County, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at Hardy-Towns Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 12:00pm, Saturday, January 5, 2019. A private burial will be held at Plainfield Baptist Church Cemetery, Plainfield, Georgia.
Mrs. Lee received her Bachelors, Masters and Specialists degrees in Science and Botany from Georgia College in Milledgeville. She was a beloved science teacher at Dodge County High School for 32 years. She believed in every student and challenged them to reach higher goals inside the classroom and beyond. Not having children of her own, Mrs. Lee regarded her students as her "kids," and took pride in all their accomplishments.
She loved working crossword puzzles, knitting and cross stitching, and she will be well remembered as an expert gardener. Her yard was beautiful with something blooming year round. She often hosted memorable family gatherings in her backyard where the great nieces and nephews loved to go swimming in Aunt Margie's pool.
She is survived by one sister, Jane Fordham Tison (Dr. James Tison) of Eastman, two nephews, Jeff Fordham of Eastman and Harmon Tison (Jackie) of Flowery Branch, two nieces, Suzanne Fordham Young (Jason) of Huntsville, AL, Eve Tison London (Allen) of Macon, 12 great nieces and nephews: Kelsey Jones, Brooks Jones, Jake Fordham, Noah Fordham, Erin Young, Dylan Young, Shaw London, Pete Tison, Eli Young, Bo Tison, Hendley London, Holly Young and 4 cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, JF And Evelyn Bowen Fordham, a brother, Fielding Fordham, and a niece, Deedra Fordham Jones.
