Mrs. Laura Grace May, age 84, of Eastman, Georgia passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026 surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at Hardy – Towns Funeral Home on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ricky Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. May was born in Eastman, Georgia on May 30, 1941 to the late Hazel Harrell and Lewis Sapp. She was a homemaker for many years and also retired from C&J Manufacturing. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, going out to eat, doing puzzles, yard sales, and spending time with friends and family. In her golden years, she enjoyed being active in the Eastman/Dodge County Council on Aging. All involved were considered dear friends. She was a member of Eastman Bible Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a devout woman of the faith and loved to spread her love of the Lord with all of those who surrounded her.
Mrs. May is survived by her children, David May (Patsy), Mark May (Sandra), Sandra May Martin (Dougie), and daughter-in-law Susan May; her grandchildren, Denisa May Hardy (Chuck), Steven May, Kelly May (Ama), Brandi Johnson (Ryan), Amanda Martin; step-grandchildren, Raina Smith, Tiffany Cooper, and Clay Cooper; her great grandchildren, Haley Hardy, Steven Lee May, Kathryn Johnson, Jessi Kate May, Emileigh Grace Hardy, several step-great grandchildren; her sister, Jane English (Donnie); as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. May is predeceased by her husband, William M. May; siblings, Jerry Sapp, Leroy Sapp, Johnny Sapp, Billy Sapp, and Mary Burch; her son, Stanley May; and her grandson, Bradley May.
