Mr. Larry S. Bennett of Ivey, Georgia, formerly of Eastman and Brunswick, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 21, 2023. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Hardy-Towns Funeral Home with Rev. Dahl McDermitt officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
Mr. Bennett was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 15, 1954 to the late Freddie Langston and Leroy Bennett. Mr. Bennett and his family moved to Eastman when he was five years old. He later graduated from Dodge County High School then worked and retired from the Glynn County State Patrol Post as a Master Trooper after 32 years of dedicated service. After retirement, he filled his time enjoying the company of his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Bennett; his son, Stephen C. Bennett (Stacy Larson); his grandchildren, Rebecca Kate Bennett and Katie Lynne Bennett. He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Wiseman, Lynn Thomas, and Randy Bennett; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett was predeceased by his daughter Lara Bennett; his brother, Danny Bennett; as well as his mother and father-in-law, Helen and Doc Daniels.
