Kathryn Hickman Smith passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025
with her grandson by her side and the love of her dear family in her
heart, including her sweet dog "Lady".
Born September 1, 1933, in Eastman, Georgia, she lived a very
fulfilling life and was always known as a kind hearted and caring
Christian woman who moved mountains to take care of her family.
She started her own business and found great success in running it
for over 30 years. After her retirement, she moved from Atlanta back
to her hometown of Eastman where she remained until her final year
which she spent in Panama City Beach with her devoted and loving
grandson.
Her greatest joy was being the perfect mother and grandmother.
Even after everyone was grown she naturally continued that
nurturing role for friends and family. She loved caring for people.
She joins in Heaven her beloved son Rusty, husband Forrest, parents
Ollie and Ruby Hickman and brother Glynn Hickman.
She is survived by brother Bobby Hickman and sister Jewell
Stuckey, as well as grandson Oliver Pettis and daughter-in-law
Stephanie Pettis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held October 4, 2025
at 2:00pm, Bethlehem Baptist Church 1530 Airport Road, Eastman,
GA.
