Mr. Jacob Felix Kimmons, Jr., 87, of Alamo, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA. He was born October 4, 1928 in Safety Harbor, FL to the late Lennie and Jacob Felix Kimmons. Mr. Kimmons served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and received a Korean Service Medal. He was a member of the Alamo First Baptist Church and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Ann Kimmons and son, Dennis Kirk Kimmons.
Mr. Kimmons is survived by his three children: Michael Trent Kimmons, Dawn Tyran Thornton (Mike), Kim Jay Kimmons (MaryAnn); four grandchildren: Cydney Cathleen Thornton, Hunter Evan Thornton, Collin Ann Kimmons, and Jacob Taylor Kimmons; two sisters: Faye Daniel and Billie Carol Chkoreff (Larry); two brothers: Royce Kimmons (JoAnn) and James Kimmons (Linda); five nieces: Sherry Harbin Thomas, Rhonda Geiger, Ginger Mercer, Kathey Powell (Dick), and Suzanne Doty (Chris); and four nephews: Charles Darvin Blanton (Pat), Kim Cook (Lynn), Michael Kimmons, and Geiger Mercer.
Visitation will be Friday, October 30, 2015 at Towns Funeral Home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Alamo First Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Meguiar and Rev. Kyle Woodfin officiating. Interment will follow in the Alamo City Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to the Alamo First Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
