Mrs. Irene Gregory, age 93, of Eastman died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at The Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev.Jerry Peele officiating.
Visitation will from 1 til 2 at Hardy-Towns Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gregory was born to Ira Brantley and Ada Carr on September 20, 1917. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Eastman. Mrs. Gregory graduated from Eastman High School in 1934 and Middle Georgia College in 1936. She received her degree from Georgia State College for Women and was an educator for 32 years. She taught in Wheeler, Houston, Pulaski, and Dodge County. Mrs. Gregory was a member of Dodge County Retired Educators Association.
Mrs. Gregory is survived by sisters-in-law; Geneva Amerson of Brunswick, Carolyn Allen of Lilburn, and Dorothy Pearce of McDonough. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Robert Gregory of Adrian. She is predeceased by her husband, Albert Eugene Gregory and son, Albert Eugene Gregory Jr.
Those serving as pallbearers are Marvin Giddens, Gene Dennis, Dan McCranie, Reggie Sheffield, Aubrey Corbitt, Darrell Butler, Steve Grimes, John Reddock, Emory Peacock, and James Kimmons.
