Mr. Forrest Lee Dyal Miller, age 66, of Eastman, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at his residence. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Forrest graduated from Dodge County High School in 1978. During his time at DCHS, he was a homecoming escort and excelled at football. Following high school, he was the owner and operator of Miller's Pool Hall. Later in life, he worked as a Correctional Officer for the Georgia Department of Corrections, as well as a commercial truck driver.
Forrest loved the outdoors and enjoyed the simple things in life. In the fall, you would always find him cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and when he was able to, he spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, or out on the water, especially cruising down the Ocmulgee River in his pontoon boat. The beach held a special place in his heart, specifically St. Simons Island and Tybee Island, where he made countless memories with family and friends.
Some of Forrest's other interests included collecting arrowheads, building a collection of Jack Daniels memorabilia, and enjoying a good game of chess whenever he could. He found happiness in both adventurous and quiet moments. Whether on the water, at the beach, or just enjoying a football game on TV, he found joy in the simple things and he shared that joy with the people around him.
Forrest had a carefree personality. He lived life to the fullest and he certainly loved to be the life of the party. He was also kind to those he cared about and cherished. Forrest was loved dearly and will be missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his daughter, Kassie Barfield (Daniel); his grandchildren, CJ Gordon, Kendall Gordon, Boston Barfield, Hunter Prince, Mylonna Prince, and Hope Miller; his great-grandson, Weston Prince; his brother, Frederick Miller (Cindy); his niece, Katelyn Miller (Benjamin); his nephews, Christian Miller (Abby) and Chip Miller (Savannah); his uncle, Marshall Miller (Becky); as well as special extended family, Tiffany Grubbs and Taylor Padgett.
