Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Potts, age 88, died Friday, November 15, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 18, 2019 at 2p.m. in the chapel of Hardy-Towns Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Hendley and Rev. Daniel Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Potts was born August 19, 1931, in Cuthbert, GA to the late Josey Ramsey and Bertis Wright. She later moved to Albany, GA where she retired after 30 years of service as an OR Technician at Phoebe Putney Hospital. She then settled in Eastman to be near her children.
She was strong in her faith and a member of Cottondale Baptist Church. She is described as being a perfect wife and mother hen to her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook and loved family gatherings, traveling, canning, antiquing, and fishing with a cane pole.
Mrs. Potts is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thad Potts; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Papel (T.I.); sons, Eddie Lee McCook (Sherri) and Clifford Ray McCook (Teresa); grandchildren, Tony Papel (Charlene), Trina Papel McMahan (Alan), Matt McCook, Laurie McCook Kirkley (Clay), Amanda Wooten (Buddy), Megan Little Rogers, and Russell Little; great-grandchildren, Andrew Cook Papel, Mason Wright Papel, Tucker Clay Kirkley, Josie Leigh Kirkley, Charleigh Grace McCook, JaiunaVae Pattillo, Asher Pattillo, Carter Rogers, Emma Rogers, Gabriel Wooten, and Gracie Wooten.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Charlie Wright, Agnew Wright, Buddy Wright, Margie Gilbert, and Joyce Williams; and great-grandchild Aidan Thomas Rogers.
Those wishing may make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
