Mr. Edgar Blake Layman, age 69, of Eastman, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Hardy-Towns Funeral Home.
Mr. Layman was born December 5, 1956 in Bradenton, Florida. He graduated from Lake County High in Leesburg, Florida in 1968. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. Mr. Layman is a combat veteran in the Desert Storm Conflict serving in the C Company of the 70 2nd Transport Battalion. Along with many medals, he earned the rank of Seargent and was honorably discharged on August 1, 1999, an impressive 24 years of service for the American people. After the Army, he worked for Condor 3, Midstate Pool, Reed Construction, and Layman Transport alongside his father. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, wrestling, and collecting at flea markets and estate sales.
Mr. Layman is survived by his dear companion, Lisa Stokes-Layman; daughter, Michele Layman; sister, Patricia Conley (James); Charles Layman II; step-daughters, Brenda Handley and Tammie Brown; Miranda Vaughn (Philip), Rebekka Lorens (Josh); eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Layman is predeceased by his parent, Charles and Artie Layman; his daughter Angel Gail Layman; sisters, Marie Staples and Maurine Bridges.
