Mr. Delton Hilliard, age 82, of Rhine, Georgia died Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Piedmont Hospital in Macon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2022 in the chapel of Hardy-Towns Funeral Home. Interment will follow Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Rhine, Georgia.
Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5 til 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Hilliard was born January 27, 1940 in Telfair County to parents, Gladys Pittman Hilliard and Willie K. Hilliard. Known as "The Snake Man", he was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a retired truck driver, loved fishing, hunting, arrowhead hunting, and back porch rocking.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Hilliard; daughters, Robyn DeVane (Randy) and Evonne Ivey (John); bonus son, Tony McCranie; sister, Sheila Anderson (Roy); grandchildren, Caroline Swain, Landon DeVane (Jes), and Gracie Brandt (Aaron); great grandchildren, Harper Tarpley, Madilyn Swain, Eli Brandt, and Nora DeVane; nephew, Robert Laster.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by grandson-in-law, Lewis Swain.
