David "Davey" Harrell, 67, of Chauncey, Georgia passed away in Eastman, Georgia on June 9, 2023.
He was born on September 27, 1955 in Georgia to Jack and Betty Harrell. He was the fire chief for Webster Fire Department for 22 years and District Fire Chief for Sumter County. Mr. Harrell moved to Chauncey, Georgia in 2011 and was the Captain of the Chauncey Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Molly Harrell of Chauncey, Georgia; sons: David Harrell (Leigh) of Bushnell, Florida and John Harrell (Jaclyn) of Center Hill, Florida; grandchildren: Colton, Case, Abby and Lincoln; brothers: Mark Harrell (Tina) of Webster, Florida and Cliff Connell of Webster, Florida; sisters: Lisa Connell of Inverness, Florida and Gina Martin (Scott) of Nobleton, Florida; mother: Betty Davis of Webster, Florida; his beloved wiener dog: Sadie Mae.
He was preceded in death by his father: Jack E. Harrell; his uncle: Bud Johnson and his Granny Johnson.
A service will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 at 12 PM (with visitation from 11-12) at First Baptist Church of Webster, Florida with Pastor Don Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Webster, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Chauncey Volunteer Fire Department.
All arrangements are being handled by Beyers Funeral Home-Purcell Chapel in Bushnell, Florida as well as Hardy-Towns Funeral Home in Eastman, Georgia.
