SINGLETARY, Brenda Susan

Brenda Susan Singletary, 61, of Ocala, formerly of Eastman, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Sylvia's Hospice House in Ocala, Fl.
Graveside services will be at 11 A.M., Saturday, May 4, 2013 in Orphans Cemetery.
A native of Eastman, GA, she moved to Marion County in 1976, from Tifton, GA. Brenda retired as a Captain from the Marion County Sheriff's Office in 2005 after a long career that saw her involved in many areas of law enforcement, including victim's advocate, civil captain at the court house, and Deputy Do-Right program, that later became the D.A.R.E. program. She was a proud member of the Republican Party. She will be remembered as someone who really loved her dogs, and was also well known for her sewing and embroidery work.
She is survived by her brother John Singletary and his wife Donya, her nieces Amanda Chau (Jon) and Sarah Williams (Joe), her nephew Jeremy Mabe (Julie), and great nieces and nephews Austin and Caleb Chau, Jonathan, Jacob and Joshua Mabe, and Olivia Perez. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
