It is with praise and gratitude to our Lord that our Family announces the passing of Beverly Allene Hunt Hardin at the age of 89, on January 6, 2026. Beverly was born in Tifton, GA and was raised in Cordele, GA. She graduated from Cordele High School in 1954 where she was active in Student Government and HS Cheering. Beverly graduated from the Georgia College in 1958 with a BS in Business Administration. While attending college, Beverly was a member of the Big 8, swam on the College Swim team, served in Student Government, and sang with the College Glee Club. Shortly after graduation, Beverly met the love of her life Silas H Hardin, Jr of Eastman, GA as she visited college friends, who were practice teaching at Dodge County HS. They were married on August 17, 1958 and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2023. During her career, Beverly taught Business Education classes at Dodge County HS and Baker Academy in Hawkinsville, GA then worked at Eastman First Methodist Church as its Financial Secretary. During her lifetime within the community, Beverly served as Cub Scout Den Mother, was a member of the Eastman DAR, sang in the Church Choir, and held several leadership positions at Eastman FMC.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Silas H. Hardin, Jr., her parents Lawson M. (Buck) Hunt and Miriam Lay Hunt, and sister Sally Hunt Bazemore of Cordele, GA. She is survived by her sons Silas Hamilton (Diane) Hardin, III of Auburn, AL, McDonald Hunt (Susan) Hardin of Kathleen, GA, and Michael Dana (Jennifer) Hardin of Eastman, GA. Beverly and Si have been blessed with seven grandchildren – Hayley Hardin Cauley, Hunter McDonald Hardin, Hannah Reagan Hardin, Dallas Michael Hardin, Daniel Dawson Hardin, Carolyn Susanne Hardin, and Lawson Silas Hardin and two great grandchildren – Carter Thomas Cauley and Claire Elizabeth Cauley.
Beverly and Silas enjoyed traveling, spending time at Fernandina Beach, FL, attending Georgia Seniors Golf outings, watching sports especially the UGA Bulldogs, and family time spent with their children and family especially at Fernandina Beach. For her, Beverly spent her idle time conversing with friends telling stories and reflecting on experiences. She enjoyed playing Bridge card games and delivering "Meals on Wheels".
As an honor to Beverly and a celebration of her life, a Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17th, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Hardy-Towns Funeral Home located at 6399 Oak Street in Eastman, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered either to Eastman First Methodist Church in Eastman, Georgia or to a charity of their choice.
