Mr. Alva Riska "Rick" Rogers Sr., age 74, of Eastman died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Serenity Hospice.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Eastman First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Orphans Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 til 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Rogers was a member of Eastman First Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired educator, administrator, and coach. He was a former president of Birdwood College and a proud Dodge County Sports Fan.
He was the widower of the late Lynn Rogers and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Rev. Fred Parker; son and daughter-in-law, Alva Riska Rogers Jr. "Rick" and Lori Rogers; seven grandchildren, Marlyn, Lauren, Erin, and Morgan Parker, Laralin, Alva Riska Rogers III "Rock", and Cole Rogers; sister, Sammie Hendrix; sister-in-laws, Barbara Boatright (Paul) and Genny King.
