Mr. Albert James NeSmith, age 96, of Eastman, formerly of Cochran, Georgia passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Hardy-Towns Chapel with Rev. Ken Fennell officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 til 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. NeSmith was born January 4, 1923 in Dodge County to the late Annie Pearl Darsey Chance NeSmith and Elbert NeSmith. He was of the Baptist Faith, retired Fire Chief in Cochran, Georgia and a WWII Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia NeSmith of Eastman; daughter, Faye Howell (William T. Howell Jr.) of Eastman; grandchildren, Michelle Mullis (Jonathan), Todd Howell (Betsy), Amye Roberson (Matt), and Beth Wood (Melissa); nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Ray NeSmith.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Southside Baptist Church, 146 Jessup St., Cochran, Ga 31014.
The family will be at the home of Faye & Jr. Howell, 35 Tripps Court, Eastman, Ga.
